UKCA certification

Since the United Kingdom left the European Union in 2020, products that previously required the CE marking, now need the new British product identification: the UKCA.

The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) is a conformity requirement and a product label, which is required for a product to be placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales, and Scotland). Manufacturers and distributors are responsible for ensuring that their products comply to the UK rules. In addition, they are also responsible for ensuring that the conformity assessment documents have been drawn up and are available in accordance with the rules.

The UKCA-Certification came into force on January 1, 2021. However, the European CE-Certification will continue to be accepted by Great Britain until December 31, 2024. After the end of the transitional period, beginning January 1, 2025, Great Britain will only accept products with the UKCA label. In order to obtain the UKCA marking, one has to work with a notified body registered in the EU.
